With a coffee cocktail, you can mainly go one of two ways – an Irish Coffee or an Espresso Martini. The Martini is the Millennial drink – a little flirty, a little raunchy. The Irish Coffee is strong and silent drink. But both are bloody delicious and a must-have for coffee fans.

We’ve rounded up some of the best coffee cocktails in Dublin for you:

One of the few original coffee-based cocktails on the list, the Turbo Peligroso in 777 is a wicked mix of vodka, tobacco syrup and coffee liqueur – not for the faint-hearted, but certainly one to try.

San Lorenzo’s

The Espresso Martini in San Lorenzo’s is one to wear a stretchy waistband for. That’s because you get coffee liqueur, creme de cacao, vanilla syrup, strong espresso and heavy cream. But it might also be on account of the giant stack of pancakes that are an absolute must in San Lorenzos.

According to Conor Myers, who previously worked in The Exchequer, Delahunt offer the finest Irish Coffee in town. And if you give them a wink you might get an extra lashing of cream.

Chelsea Drugstore

The Guatemalan Negroni is the only other non-Martini/ Irish Coffee entrant on the list. Worry not, you’re in safe hands with these guys who serve up Ron Zacapa, Solera, coffee infused Carpano and Antica Campari, all in one beautiful drink. Be still our beating hearts.

Chapter One

This is a #treatyoself experience and very much a special-occasion-type-night-out. The Chapter One Irish Coffee includes wafers, flames and dripping coffee – a veritable spectacle.

The Camden Exchange

The final recommendation comes from Julie Nicell, who previously manned the bar in Smyths in Rathmines. The Espresso Martini in The Camden Exchange is a good ‘un. Plus the curry-cheese-fries are DIVINE.

Bad Bobs

Another recommendation from barman Conor Myers, the guys in Bad Bobs make a mean Irish Coffee – bespoke and full of heart.

Vice Coffee

Vice Coffee are so into Irish Coffee they even hosted their own Irish Coffee Making Championships. Nestled in the back of Wigwam, you’re guaranteed banging tunes, whilst your cocktail is being prepped.

Sophie’s Espresso Martini is a delicious drink. But more than that, it legit has the best view in town with a 360 degree viewing experience AND a rooftop garden.
